Working at height is a daily reality for many workplaces—from construction sites and warehouses to offices and retail facilities. The ladder you choose isn’t just a tool; it’s a lifeline. That’s why PARRS carefully selects every product we supply, and why DRABEST Step Ladders have earned a place in our professional range.
Fully EN 131 certified, DRABEST ladders meet the latest European standards for safety, durability, and performance, giving your team confidence every time they step up.
Why DRABEST Ladders Are a Smart Investment
Not all ladders are created equal. DRABEST focuses on three things that matter most:
- Safety First – Every ladder is rigorously tested to meet the latest EN 131 standards, designed to safely support up to 150 kg, including tools and materials. Whether you’re decorating at home or working on a professional site, DRABEST ladders provide reliable safety at every step.
- Built to Last – Using modern manufacturing techniques like precision pressing and welding, DRABEST ladders are strong, stable, and durable, capable of repeated use without compromising performance.
- Thoughtful Design – Comfort and stability are built in. From anti-slip treads to high safety rails and handy tool trays, DRABEST ladders make working at height easier, safer, and more efficient.
With DRABEST, quality isn’t just a claim—it’s built into every rung.
Understanding EN 131 – The Ladder Safety Standard
Safety and compliance are essential when choosing a ladder for work or home. BS EN 131 is the current British and European standard covering all portable ladders, including step, extension, and combination ladders. Updated in 2019, it introduced stricter testing to make ladders stronger, wider, and more stable.
Older British standards (BS 2037 and BS 1129, Class 1 and Class 3 ladders) have been withdrawn. New ladders should meet EN 131 to ensure safety and durability.
Under EN 131, ladders are tested to support a maximum total load of 150 kg, including the user, tools, and materials.
Types of EN 131 ladders:
- Professional ladders – for frequent workplace use, tested to higher durability standards
- Non-professional ladders – for occasional domestic use
Both carry the same 150 kg load rating, but professional ladders are designed for more demanding use.
If you own older ladders, they can be used if still safe, but replacements or new purchases should comply with the current EN 131 standard.
All DRABEST step ladders supplied by PARRS are fully EN 131 certified, offering reliable strength, stability, and safety for both professional and domestic use.
