Selecting a good office chair with the right comfort and ergonomic features is really important, especially if the users are going to be sitting at their desk for long periods of time.
PARRS have a wide choice of office chairs so consider budget, comfort, support and features when deciding on the right one for you.
Chairs with an adjustable seat height can be adapted to suit the users size and enable them to rest their feet flat on the floor. Gas lift chairs provide a more cushioned seat and enable the user to raise or lower the height by tapping the lever.
Backrests support the back in the right areas as well as promote good posture and avoid straining parts of the body. They can be moved in and out to allow additional seat depth and can be adjustable up to down and lock in various positions. High back chairs may also support the users shoulders, head and neck.
A tilting mechanism allows the user to adjust their seat to different positions by tilting forward or back. The tilt lock will secure the back of the seat to the chosen angle increasing or decreasing the resistance of the chair,
Armrests can take some of the load off the users shoulders and neck. Without armrests, there’s nothing to support the users arms. So, the users arms will essentially pull down his or her shoulders; increasing the risk of muscle aches and pains. Armrests are a simple and effective solution to this problem, offering support for the worker’s arms. They can also be lowered so the user can pull their chair close to the desk.
Back can 'free-float' so will move with the users back for support.
Most office chairs come with a smooth 360-degree swivel operation for flexible manoeuvrability.
UPHOLSTERED FABRIC
Fabric upholstery is fire retardant, durable and easy to clean. Fabric office chairs are ideal if you wish to colour coordinate with a room or match your seating with company branding colours. Our Ergo Comfort Spectrum range of chairs are available in 60 colours.
MESH
With centrally heated environments, fabric upholstered backs on office chairs can be too warm with the user getting a sweaty back, therefore so the main benefit of choosing mesh is breathability; it allows air to flow to the user. Mesh is becoming more popular in the comfort stakes as the technology of the mesh weave has become better. It may not look as comfortable but mesh is very supportive which therefore provides great comfort.
Leather and Faux Leather is soft, luxurious and yet hardwearing too. Both are generally easy to maintain and can be cleaned simply by wiping the chair with a clean damp cloth. Leather chairs are typically associated with the high powered executive, however, they do look very nice and are appropriate in any business setting, whether you are at work or at home.
Sturdy 5-star bases provide increased stability and ensure the chair is not likely to tip over.
CASTORS
Castors provide manoeuvrability. They allow users to move around with having to stand up, they are suitable for use on carpet and solid floors.
GLIDES
Glides are used when the chair needs to be permanently static.

Operator Chairs tend to have a high or medium backrest and provide support to the whole back as well as shoulders. PARRS range of operator chairs include budget to premium-priced chairs and are suitable for varying hours of usage. Most are available with optional armrests.
Manager/Executive Chairs are generally more generously proportioned than an operator or typist chair and usually more deeply upholstered in a hard-wearing fabric, faux leather, leather or mesh. Suitable when users day-to-day duties are varied and do not involve intense repeated tasks such as constant keyboard use.
High-level draughtsman chairs available with medium or high backrest. Designed for countertop, laboratory and draught work. For safety reasons, draughter office chairs should not be fitted with castors or wheels.
24-hour chairs are in constant use by one or more users over a 24 hour period. They have a stronger build than usual contract office chairs and are usually more generously upholstered for increased durability and comfort.
